The British Columbia
Environment Industry Association (BCEIA) Self
Audit tool that will allow generators, transporters and
processors of Hazardous Wastes to audit their own compliance
performance relative to Ministry of Environment regulations.
The BCEIA Audit Program is designed to encourage the proper
management of hazardous wastes by those companies that generate,
handle, transport, recycle, treat and dispose these materials and
to promote full compliance with the BC Hazardous Waste Regulations
(HWR).
Read first the "Assessing Compliance With the BC Hazardous Waste
Regulation Guide." This is a self-assessment guidance
document for companies that handle, transport, manage and treat
hazardous wastes in British Columbia. This guide provides basic
checklists to assist companies in assessing their overall degree of
compliance with the HWR. In following the guide, all-relevant
requirements of the HWR will be assessed, and results of the
assessment will highlight where improvements, if any, need to be
made.
Assessment of the results will provide the company with an
opportunity to deal with any deficiencies while providing
heightened awareness of the HWR and how it relates to specific
activities of their operations.
These Guide and Checklists are available below. They are in
Adobe Acrobat format. Click here to download the Adobe Acrobat
